The School of Dentistry at the University of Phayao was proud to participate in the opening of the National Academic Conference on "Innovations in Integrative Laserology for Dental Services in Thailand". This conference was held as part of the APD-WFLD Laser Den-tistry Certification Course 2025 from November 19-21, 2025 at the College of Management Bangkok, University of Phayao (located at Wave Place, Phloen Chit, Bangkok). The event was co-organized by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) and the Hub of Knowledge in Orofacial Laserology.
At the opening ceremony, Ms. Sirinporn Diaotrakul, Deputy Director of the NRCT, deliv-ered a welcoming speech, highlighting the NRCT's crucial role in promoting collaboration among universities, government agencies, and international networks to advance research and innova-tion in laser dentistry. Associate Professor Supakorn Pongbangpho, Ph.D., President of the University of Phayao, also presided over the official opening.
The conference brought together over 90 participants, including members of the APD-WFLD committee, experts, researchers, and attendees from both Thailand and abroad. The pro-gram included lectures by international specialists in laser dentistry and presentations of key re-search findings supported by the NRCT through the Hub of Knowledge in Orofacial Laserology initiative.
Highlights included : – Drafting national safety standards for dental laser applications – Expanding laser-based oral health care networks in Khon Kaen Province – Applying laser technology in primary care settings – Establishing clinical frameworks for managing oral pre-cancerous lesions with laser therapy – A multinational study on awareness and needs in orofacial laserology – Developing digital lifelong-learning platforms for laser dentistry
This national conference is a significant milestone in strengthening Thailand's capabilities in laser dentistry. It aims to enhance research translation into clinical practice and ad-vance Thailand's position as a leading regional hub for orofacial laserology in the Asia-Pacific re-gion.
