School of Science Transfers "Leaf Compost without Grinding" Innovation to Support Sustainable Community Waste Management

On October 9, 2025, the School of Science at the University of Phayao organized a practical workshop titled "Leaf Compost Without Grindimg and Organic Waste Management using Microbial Innovation" at Wat Ban So, Mae Na Ruea Sub-district, Mueang District, Phayao Province.
This activity is a key component of the "1 Faculty 1 Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Project" and the "Reinventing University Project". The main objectives are to promote the sustainable use of natural resources, develop integrated waste management using science and technology, and create added value in the model community.
The event was honored by the presence of Mr. Prachan Deesom, Deputy Chief Executive of the Mae Na Ruea Sub-district Administrative Organization (OrBorTor), who gave the welcome address, and Associate Professor Dr. Sitthisak Pinmongkhonkul, Dean of the School of Science, who officially opened the activity.
A total of 50 participants attended the training, including representatives from the Mae Na Ruea OrBorTor, the Ban So community, and staff from the School of Science and the University of Phayao's Buildings and Grounds Division. The activity was successfully coordinated in cooperation with the Mae Na Ruea OrBorTor.
The knowledge and practical skills were delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Siriwat Boonchaisri and Assistant Professor Dr. Sukunya Suebsan, lecturers from the Department of Biology, with assistance from Dr. Kanta Sangwijit, Ms. Chutima Jaiphet, Ms. Maneenut Runsri, and Ms. Narumol Boonruang.
This initiative underscores the School of Science's firm commitment to applying our knowledge and research to improve community quality of life and concretely drive the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the local level.
