University of Phayao Welcomes Faculty Members and Students from Nanhua University, Taiwan
On Thursday, 16 January 2026, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supakorn Pongbangpho, President of the University of Phayao (UP), together with Asst. Prof. Dr. Amaret Thepma, Dean of the School of Architecture and Fine Arts; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Panintra Theeranont; Asst. Prof. Dr. Narint Nonthamal, Assistant to the President; and Dr. Patcharaphon Luerat, Assistant Dean for International Affairs, School of Architecture and Fine Arts, warmly welcomed faculty members and students from Nanhua University, Taiwan, during their visit to the University of Phayao.
The delegation from Nanhua University was led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Tien-Hsing Huang (School of Architecture), Asst. Prof. Lee Ya-Chen (Department of Ethnomusicology), and Prof. Dr. Yi-Ping (Nanhua University). This visit marks another important milestone in strengthening the long-standing relationship and expanding academic collaboration between the two universities.
The University of Phayao and Nanhua University officially commenced their partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 16 January 2024. Since then, both institutions have continued to promote collaborative initiatives, including knowledge exchange, capacity-building for staff, and opportunities for students to learn and develop in an international context.
As part of the visit, eight exchange students from Taiwan will undertake an internship at UP SPACE, the Institute of Innovation and Technology Transfer, University of Phayao. In addition, they will participate in learning activities focused on Lanna arts and culture in Phayao Province, organized by the School of Architecture and Fine Arts, to broaden cross-cultural understanding and enhance international learning experiences.
