Students in School of Engineering won the consolation prize of AP OPEN HOUSE 2021 BIM EMPOWER CIVIL award organized by AP (Thailand) Public Company Limited. As a result of the COVID-19 situation at the present, the company is conducting 100% virtual events for the first time with civil engineering students from various institutions nationwide with more than 1,000 students signed up for this event.
In the qualifiers round, students of School of Engineering, University of Phayao were selected as two team from the last 22 team and in the final results, the UP BIM team won a consolation prize, receiving 10,000 baht. The team members are Mr. Wuttichai Apiwongngam, Mr. Panuwat Sukne, Mr. Chupong Aonnan, Mr. Teerapat Khunnuch, Mr. Anantachai Kornsuwan, Mr. Thanawan Copper, Mr. Jessadakorn Khamnont, Mr. Thamrong Srikhampa, Mr. Hansar Yimsai, Mr. Prachya Besuwan and Mr. Warittin Wannalert. The advisors are Dr. Apichart Buaklao, Mr. Thanakrit Thepaumong and Mr. Ritthayut Gonthong.
This competition will require students to design a Model 3D house to answer the needs of residents and presented guidelines for applying benefits from BIM (Building Information Modeling) to flat property projects. Before the competition, all participants must attend the work training about the company's actual standard. The event is a collaboration between educational institutions and the private sector to develop BIM (Building Information Modeling) skills for students of School of Engineering, University of Phayao to ready for work in the future.
