On Friday, April 4, 2025, Mr. Nattaworn Wongjittratorn, Deputy Dean for Student Quality, together with Dr. Suntaree Srivantaneeyakul, Dr. Jintana Sringern, Dr. Sommawan Puawes, and Miss Wang Hui, Lecturer at the School of Liberal Arts, represented the faculty in attending the academic conference titled “Sichuan in the History of Chinese Civilization.” The event was held at the Main Seminar Room, Institute of East Asian Studies, Thammasat University, Rangsit Campus. It was organized by the Chinese Studies Center and the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Chinese Studies Center for Learning, both under the Institute of East Asian Studies, Thammasat University.
The conference offered participants insights into the history, society, and culture of the Sichuan civilization through academic lectures and panel discussions conducted by scholars and researchers from various universities. The sessions explored topics relating to the development of civilization in Sichuan Province—an area geographically and historically adjacent to ancient Chinese cultural centers. This region flourished from the late Shang Dynasty to the late Warring States period and has long been recognized for its cultural richness and innovative craftsmanship, particularly in pottery, jade, and advanced bronze artifacts, reflecting the ingenuity of the people who inhabited Sichuan thousands of years ago.
On this occasion, the Chinese Studies Center and the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Chinese Studies Center for Learning graciously presented a copy of the book “Sichuan in the History of Chinese Civilization” to the faculty’s representatives as a token of appreciation.
