The English Department, School of Liberal Arts, University of Phayao, organized a faculty development program under the theme "Empowering English Teaching & Learning with AI" on May 19–20, 2025, at the Active Learning Room, General Education Building (CE). The program aimed to enhance the professional competencies of English instructors in various areas, including English language teaching, instructional design, multimedia and technology integration, and assessment and evaluation practices—both in classroom and online or blended learning environments.
Additionally, the initiative sought to support faculty members in the development of academic publications, such as teaching materials, textbooks, and scholarly books. It also emphasized research development and publication, and facilitated knowledge sharing (KM) among English faculty members on curriculum development, teaching strategies, and student development through practical experience and research-based approaches.
The program was honored to have Dr. Atima Kaewsa-ard from the School of Liberal Arts, Mae Fah Luang University, as the keynote speaker conducting a hands-on workshop on Empowering English Teaching & Learning with AI. Moreover, a team of internal speakers from the School of Liberal Arts, led by Dr. Darinthorn Inthapthim, alongside Dr. Chansak Siengyen and Miss Pata-aym Kaewpasoot, conducted sessions focused on curriculum innovation, teaching techniques, and research-informed student development practices.
