School of Liberal Arts Participates in Area-Based Skills Development Training for University of Phayao Personnel


     On Wednesday, May 21, 2025, the administrative team and staff from the School of Liberal Arts participated in the Area-Based Skills Development Training for University of Phayao Personnel, held at Room UB001, University of Phayao. The program was organized by the Office of Human Resources as part of the UP Work Life Fit initiative, which aims to reform and enhance the university’s human resource management system.

 

     This training falls under the university’s strategic framework to transform its operations through proactive personnel management and stronger community engagement, particularly within the "Area-Based and Community Engagement" group (Group 3) for the fiscal year 2025. The initiative seeks to foster sustainable growth by strengthening the university’s relationship with local communities. As part of this vision, University of Phayao has set a target for all staff to possess at least Level 2 area-based skills, aligning with university missions and ensuring effective collaboration with local communities in Phayao Province.

 

     The opening address was delivered by Associate Professor Dr. Supakorn Pongbangpho, President of University of Phayao, who emphasized the importance of area-based capacity building in institutional transformation. Participants had the opportunity to engage with expert speakers, including:

 

Professor Dr. Peerapong Tekasakul, Chair of the Subcommittee on University Transformation, who presented on "Expectations for Transforming Personnel Management Systems in Group 3 Pilot Universities."

 

Asst. Prof. Chol Bunnag, Director of SDG Move and Assistant to the President for Quality and Sustainability, Thammasat University, who discussed “SDGs and Area-Based Universities: Concepts, Implementation, and Indicators.”

 

Professor Dr. Samur Thanoi, Vice President for Research and Innovation, University of Phayao, who shared insights on “The Role of University of Phayao as a Group 3 Institution in Community Development and the Importance of Area-Based Skills for University Personnel.”

 

This initiative reflects the University of Phayao's commitment to becoming a truly engaged and community-responsive institution, driving development hand in hand with the region it serves.
