On Wednesday, August 6, 2025, the University of Phayao Hospital’s Faculty of Medicine organized the “Earthquake Preparedness Training and Simulation Drill 2025.” The purpose of this event was to improve to enhance the knowledge, understanding, and skills of staff in responding systematically and effectively to potential earthquake incidents.
The program aimed to equip personnel at all levels with the ability to respond to seismic emergencies in accordance with international safety standards. The training covered both theoretical and practical components, including emergency situation assessment, safe evacuation and patient transfer procedures, interdepartmental communication and coordination, and the proper use of essential tools and equipment during crisis situations.
One of the main highlights of the event was the full-scale simulation drill, which allowed participants to gain hands-on experience in a realistic scenario. This exercise was beneficial in helping staff become more familiar with emergency protocols, enhance their decision-making skills under pressure, and ensure efficient and organized action in the event of an actual earthquake.
By implementing this program, University of Phayao Hospital reinforces its commitment to robust safety measures, instilling confidence among patients and the public that the hospital is fully prepared to manage emergencies. The initiative is part of the hospital’s continuous effort to strengthen disaster management capabilities, reduce risks, and minimize loss of life and property.
