On Wednesday, 24 December 2025, Associate Professor Supakorn Pongbangpho, Ph.D.President, University of Phayao, attended the official flag handover ceremony from the outgoing host institution, led by Associate Professor Dr. Cholvit Jearajit, Acting President of Srinakharinwirot University, host of the 48th Samakkhi Demonstration School Games “Ongkharak Games.” The ceremony marked the formal transfer of responsibilities and symbolized continued cooperation among higher education institutions in advancing sports and educational activities for demonstration schools nationwide.
The University of Phayao Demonstration School has expressed full readiness to serve as host of the 49th Samakkhi Demonstration School Games, titled the “Kham Mok Luang Games,” to be held from 24–30 October 2026 at the University of Phayao Demonstration School. Organized under the theme “Go Green Go Strong,” the event will welcome more than 20 demonstration schools from universities across Thailand to participate in sporting competitions and knowledge-exchange activities in sports, education, and the creative development of youth potential.
This readiness was formally reaffirmed during the flag handover ceremony held at the closing of the 48th Samakkhi Demonstration School Games. On the occasion, Associate Professor Chayan boonyarak, Ph.D.Director, Demonstration School, University of Phayao, received a commemorative plaque as the next host institution. Meanwhile, Associate Professor Ruksit Suttipong , Ph.D.Dean, School of Education, and Chairman of the Sports Technical Committee, received the host flag from the outgoing host and proudly raised it to signify the official transition.
The Samakkhi Demonstration School Games serve as an important platform for fostering unity, sportsmanship, and the holistic development of students from demonstration schools, emphasizing learning alongside ethics and well-being. The “Kham Mok Luang Games” reflect the identity of the University of Phayao as a community-engaged learning hub, seamlessly integrating Lanna local culture with sporting activities.
The University of Phayao Demonstration School has made comprehensive preparations in terms of competition venues, sports facilities, management systems, safety measures, and logistical support for athletes, coaches, and participants from demonstration schools nationwide, ensuring that the Games will be conducted smoothly, to high standards, and with a memorable experience for all involved.
