UP Demonstration School, University of Phayao, organized its Internal Sports Day for the Academic Year 2025 with the aim of enhancing students’ athletic skills and fostering holistic development. The event was divided into four teams based on the traditional “Phanna” administrative system of Phayao Province: Phanna Chan (Yellow Team), Phanna Muang (Blue Team), Phanna Chiang Dee (Green Team), and Phanna Khom (Red Team). The competitions were held from 5–14 January 2026 after school hours at 4:30 p.m., and concluded on 16 January 2026 with the DeSUP Sports Day.
In the morning session, the event began with a colorful parade procession. This year, the parade started from the road in front of the Institute of Learning Innovation and proceeded to the sports field at UP Demonstration School, serving as a public showcase of students’ creativity and a promotion of the event. The opening ceremony was presided over by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chayan Boonyarak, Acting Director of the School, who delivered the opening remarks.
The program featured a variety of creative performances, including cheerleading performances by the UP Demonstration School Cheerleading Team, cover dance performances by primary school students, and a ballroom dance performance by Grade 12 students. This was followed by an award presentation ceremony for the winning teams of each Phanna, fun sports competitions, and the futsal championship match, which concluded the morning session.
In the afternoon, activities continued with the stand cheer competition and a student concert, celebrating unity and joy while welcoming the New Year 2026.
The Internal Sports Day is a valuable activity that integrates sports with life skills development. It strengthens relationships among students and staff, promotes teamwork and systematic collaboration, and provides a platform for students to express themselves creatively. Moreover, it helps students develop sports skills and learn essential values such as sportsmanship, knowing how to win graciously, accept defeat, and forgive—fundamental qualities that will benefit them in their future lives.
