Shanghai, China, April 23, 2026 – The University of Phayao has marked a significant milestone on the global stage as its President, Associate Professor Supakorn Pongbangpho, Ph.D., was invited to deliver a prestigious Leader’s Speech at the opening ceremony of the 2026 Shanghai Climate Week in Shanghai, People’s Republic of China.

This high-level international platform brought together distinguished education leaders from across the world, including representatives from Japan, Brazil, and India. During the session, the University of Phayao showcased its forward-looking vision, emphasizing the critical role of higher education institutions in cultivating climate-literate global citizens who are equipped to respond to the challenges of climate change.

In addition, Associate Professor Phanintra Teeranon, Ph.D. Assistant to the President, was honored to serve as a moderator for the Thematic Reports session under the topic “Education for Growth: Integrating Human Rights, Innovation, and Sustainability.” Her role further highlighted the University’s academic leadership and engagement in global sustainability discourse.
