On June 25, 2026, the Division of Building and Facilities, University of Phayao, carried out the 2026 Watershed Forest Conservation Tradition Preservation Project together with community leaders and residents of Ban Mo Kaeng Thong, Villages 1, 10, and 16, at the watershed forest conservation area around the Huai Na Poi Reservoir.
The activity included a ceremony to pay respects and make offerings to the spirit of the Huai Na Poi water source, a long standing local tradition performed for good fortune and to pray for abundant water sources, seasonal rainfall, and sufficient water for the community's household use, consumption, and agriculture. Beyond preserving local customs and traditional wisdom, this tradition also serves as a means of instilling awareness among the community and stakeholders of the value of watershed forest conservation, which is the origin of water resources and plays a vital role in the long term health of the ecosystem.
For the University of Phayao, the Huai Na Poi Reservoir is another important water source used together with Ang Luang Reservoir in managing the university's water resources, supporting the care of green spaces, landscaping work, and water management to ensure sufficiency and maximum benefit.
The Division of Building and Facilities, University of Phayao, remains committed to natural resource conservation, sustainable water management, and building cooperation with surrounding communities to jointly care for forests, water sources, and ecosystems, which form an essential foundation for the balanced and sustainable growth of both the university and the community.
