The University of Phayao, through its School of Science, hosted National Science Week 2026 from August 17–19 under the theme “INTELLIGENCE SCIENCE FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE.” The event promoted learning in science, technology, and innovation while providing students, young people, and the public with opportunities to gain hands-on experience and apply scientific knowledge to everyday life and sustainable development.
On August 18, 2026, Associate Professor Supakorn Pongbangpho, Ph.D.President, University of Phayao, presided over the opening ceremony at Science Square, School of Science. University executives, staff, and students attended the event.
The event featured exhibitions and learning activities covering mathematics, chemistry, biology, physics, and exercise and sports science. It also included exhibitions highlighting Thailand’s contributions to science, technology, innovation, and biodiversity conservation.
A range of academic competitions was also held, including 246 science and mathematics projects, 172 science and mathematics quiz teams, 23 teams in the second Coding Robot Mission Challenge, 52 participants in the Science Imagination Drawing Contest, and eight teams in the Science Debate Challenge.
Through National Science Week, the University of Phayao aims to provide an engaging learning space for young people and the public to gain scientific knowledge and practical experience. The event also encourages participants to apply science, technology, and innovation to everyday life and contribute to sustainable development.
