On 17 August 2026, Assistant Professor Dr. Wassana Naku, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Quality Assurance, together with School members, laboratory instructors, and students from School of Engineering University of Phayao, opened its laboratory facilities to welcome students from schools across Phayao Province as part of National Science Week 2026, held under the theme “INTELLIGENCE SCIENCE FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE” The activities took place at the Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineering laboratory buildings of the School of Engineering, University of Phayao.
The initiative was designed to provide students with opportunities to engage in authentic, hands-on learning experiences in science and engineering using actual laboratory facilities and equipment. It also aimed to foster a deeper understanding of the role of engineering in applying scientific knowledge, technology, and innovation to address societal and environmental challenges and contribute to sustainable development.
Throughout the event, students were introduced to fundamental engineering concepts through a diverse range of practical learning activities. These included learning through a simulated industrial production system, manufacturing components using industrial machinery, constructing structural models of vehicles, and exploring the fundamental operating principles of air-conditioning systems. The activities emphasized experiential learning, enabling students to connect fundamental scientific and engineering principles with their practical applications in real-world contexts.
Through the opening of its laboratory facilities, the School of Engineering, University of Phayao, reaffirmed its commitment to creating meaningful learning spaces in collaboration with schools and the wider community. The initiative reflects the School’s continued efforts to cultivate young people’s interest in science, technology, and engineering (STEM) while strengthening their knowledge, practical skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
