School of Liberal Arts Organizes a Workshop on Outcome-Based Education (OBE)
to Enhance Academic Staff Competency
The School of Liberal Arts organized a Workshop on Outcome-Based Education (OBE) on 27 October 2025 at room CE14206, School of Liberal Arts, University of Phayao. The workshop aimed to enhance the competency and understanding of academic staff regarding the concept of Outcome-Based Education (OBE), enabling participants to effectively apply OBE principles in curriculum design and assessment processes to improve teaching and learning outcomes.
The program began with a moment of silence in remembrance of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, to express loyalty and heartfelt gratitude for Her Majesty’s boundless benevolence. This was followed by workshop lectures delivered by Asst. Prof. Dr. Sudsuang Yuttana and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Natha Kuptasthien, who highlighted the importance of the OBE framework in aligning teaching and assessment with the University of Phayao’s mission to enhance educational quality in accordance with international standards and quality assurance frameworks such as AUN-QA and EdPEx.
The workshop covered key topics including Assessment in OBE, Formulating Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs), Designing Course Learning Outcomes and Assessment Methods, and Developing Learning Activities to Foster Student Competencies. The sessions emphasized participatory learning through lectures, hands-on workshops, and collaborative discussions among participants.
This workshop marked another important step for the School of Liberal Arts, University of Phayao, in fostering a culture of continuous learning, ongoing development, and advancement toward sustainable academic excellence at the international level.
