UP Opens UPaM Health Service Center to Advance Community Healthcare and Professional Learning
Associate Professor Dr. Supakorn Pongbangpho, President of the University of Phayao, led the university’s executive team in officially opening the Physical Therapy and Medical Technology Health Service Center (UPaM) at the School of Allied Health Sciences. The center was established to provide professional healthcare services to the public, students, and university personnel while integrating the University’s missions in education, research and innovation, and academic services for the benefit of the community and society.
The Physical Therapy and Medical Technology Health Service Center (UPaM) brings together professional expertise in physical therapy and medical technology. Its physical therapy services focus on health promotion, rehabilitation, mobility improvement, and prevention of health problems, while medical technology services provide laboratory testing to support health assessment and risk monitoring. Through these services, users can access professional healthcare and receive appropriate health advice tailored to their individual needs.
The center also serves as a practical learning environment for students, allowing them to gain hands-on experience under the supervision of faculty members and professional practitioners. This approach strengthens students’ professional competencies, analytical skills, teamwork, and service-mindedness. At the same time, the center provides a platform for research and innovation in healthcare, supporting the development of solutions that respond to the needs and context of local communities.
The Physical Therapy and Medical Technology Health Service Center (UPaM) is open to the general public, as well as University of Phayao students and personnel. The center has been open for service since July 16, 2026, providing accessible, professional healthcare services while connecting education, research, and academic services with real-world applications to promote well-being and sustainable community development.
