The School of Business and Communication Arts, University of Phayao, conducted a program-level educational quality assurance assessment in accordance with the AUN-QA (ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance) framework for Academic Year 2025 through a Desktop Assessment conducted from 2 to 16 July 2026. A total of eight academic programs underwent assessment to review their operational performance, program management, and teaching and learning processes. The assessment results will also serve as valuable input for the continuous development and enhancement of educational quality.
The assessment covered programs at the bachelor's, master's, and doctoral levels. Assessment committees comprising evaluators from various internal units of the University of Phayao participated in reviewing program performance and providing recommendations in accordance with the program-level quality assurance criteria. The eight programs assessed were as follows:
Doctor of Philosophy Program in Business Administration was assessed on 2 July 2026. The assessment committee was chaired by Assistant Professor Dr. Pranee Yusiri, Lecturer at the School of Science, with Dr. Karantharat Kawattikul, Lecturer at the School of Business and Communication Arts, serving as a committee member.
Doctor of Philosophy Program in Tourism and Hotel Management was assessed on 6 July 2026. The assessment committee was chaired by Dr. Watcharin Kaenchan, Lecturer at the School of Liberal Arts, with Assistant Professor Dr. Surasak Jaikhiandee, Lecturer at the School of Medical Sciences, serving as a committee member.
Master of Arts Program in Tourism and Hotel Management was assessed on 7 July 2026. The assessment committee was chaired by Dr. Watcharin Kaenchan, with Mr. Dussan Sermochoe, Lecturer at the School of Business and Communication Arts, serving as a committee member.
Bachelor of Business Administration Program in Finance and Investment was assessed on 10 July 2026. The assessment committee was chaired by Assistant Professor Dr. Piyachon Ketsuwan, Lecturer at the School of Science, with Assistant Professor Dr. Theerut Muenwongthep, Lecturer at the School of Business and Communication Arts, serving as a committee member.
Bachelor of Accountancy Program was assessed on 13 July 2026. The assessment committee was chaired by Assistant Professor Kanjanurat Mairin, Lecturer at the School of Law, with Ms. Nawaporn Ketsuwan, Lecturer at the School of Business and Communication Arts, serving as a committee member.
Bachelor of Business Administration Program in Business Management was assessed on 14 July 2026. The assessment committee was chaired by Assistant Professor Narisara Prasittipanwang, Lecturer at the School of Law, with Assistant Professor Angkana Panteuk, Lecturer at the School of Business and Communication Arts, serving as a committee member.
Master of Business Administration Program was assessed on 14 July 2026. The assessment committee was chaired by Assistant Professor Narisara Prasittipanwang, with Mr. Worakit Saenphoch, Lecturer at the School of Information and Communication Technology, serving as a committee member.
Bachelor of Business Administration Program in Digital Marketing was assessed on 16 July 2026. The assessment committee was chaired by Assistant Professor Dr. Piyachon Ketsuwan, Lecturer at the School of Science, with Assistant Professor Dr. Apinyaporn Sopa, Lecturer at the School of Business and Communication Arts, serving as a committee member.
The Desktop Assessment serves as an important process for reviewing information and evidence related to program implementation in accordance with the AUN-QA framework. The assessment encompasses key areas including program design and management, expected learning outcomes, teaching and learning processes, student support, as well as mechanisms for monitoring and continuous quality improvement. The assessment committees provided recommendations to guide each program in further enhancing its operations, strengthening effectiveness, and aligning with internationally recognised approaches to educational quality assurance.
The outcomes of this assessment have provided each program with valuable feedback and recommendations that can be systematically applied to review, improve, and further develop program management processes. These efforts are expected to contribute to the enhancement of educational quality, the improvement of students' learning experiences, and greater confidence that the academic programs of the School of Business and Communication Arts, University of Phayao, are committed to continuous quality improvement and responsive to established educational standards.
