The University of Phayao is preparing to host the 49th Samakkhi Games, or the “Kham Mok Luang Games,” from October 24–30, 2026. Associate Professor Supakorn Pongbangpho, Ph.D.President, University of Phayao, chaired a preparation meeting on August 21, 2026, with university administrators, organizing committee members, and representatives from the Demonstration School of the University of Phayao. The event will be held under the theme, “Together as Demonstration Schools, Building Environmental Friendship and Unity at the Kham Mok Luang Games.”
The week-long sporting event will bring together athletes from 26 demonstration schools from across Thailand, competing in 19 sports at venues in the University of Phayao, Phayao Province, and Chiang Rai Province. Sports include athletics, football, futsal, volleyball, basketball, badminton, tennis, swimming, golf, and other demonstration school sports. The opening and closing ceremonies will take place at the Sanguan Srisri Building, University of Phayao.
The Demonstration School of the University of Phayao has been coordinating preparations across key areas, including sports venues and equipment, registration and information systems, medical and first-aid services, accommodation, transportation, and security. Working closely with local agencies and partner venues, the university aims to deliver a well-organized event that goes beyond competition by fostering friendship, teamwork, environmental awareness, and unity among young people from across Thailand.
