The initiative aims to encourage residents, particularly the elderly, to adopt healthier behaviors, reduce abdominal obesity, and engage in appropriate physical exercise.

📅 Wednesday, September 30, 2026 | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM 📍 Mae Sai Sub-district Administrative Organization Community Hall, Mueang Phayao District, Phayao Province

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sitthisak Pinmongkhonkul, Dean of the School of Science, emphasized the school’s mission in applying academic knowledge to enhance community health and well-being. The Dean also dispatched a team of trainers from the Exercise and Sports Science Program, including:

🔹 Dr. Patcharin Tangchaisuriya, Lecturer, Exercise and Sports Science Program

🔹 Mr. Sittiwit Impanya and Mr. Adisorn Thurayot, Scientists, Exercise and Sports Science Program

🔹 Third-year students from the Exercise and Sports Science Program

The training session, titled "Guidelines and Techniques for Appropriate Daily Exercise," focused on applying exercise and sports science principles suited to elderly individuals, covering two main approaches:

🪑 Seated Exercise A form of exercise performed while seated, designed to strengthen muscles, enhance mobility, stimulate brain function, and reduce stress, under the concept "Sit Well, Move Well, Stay Healthy at Every Age."

🔄 Accumulated Exercise A method of dividing exercise into multiple short sessions throughout the day, suitable for elderly individuals with physical limitations.

Participants also engaged in hands-on practice through 5 activity stations, each designed according to exercise science principles, enabling attendees to apply the knowledge gained for their own health management.

This support for trainers reflects the role of the School of Science, University of Phayao, in applying knowledge in exercise science to promote health and quality of life for the public (SDG 3), while strengthening collaboration between the university and local communities (SDG 17).
