University of Phayao organizes UP Pride & Proud 2023 event to promote students’ multicultural aesthetics identity.   

Division of Student Affairs at University of Phayao organized activities to promote students’ multicultural aesthetics under the banner of UP Pride & Proud 2023. The aims are to show support for equality, to promote the rights of LGTB university community, to share strategies for developing a proud UP aesthetic identity and to promote the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals for gender equality for all gender identities.      

The Pride Month event opened on June 28, 2023 under the title UP PRIDE & PROUD 2023 “Born to Be Proud” and kicked off the opening with an art exhibition at DS Art Space, Division of Student Affairs, called “SELF” by Mr. Chakrapan Mantapan, an alumnus from the School of Architecture and Fine Art. His exhibition is open for viewing from now till July 26, 2023.

          Other activities include viewing the movie, “Little Girl” which includes a discussion on equality afterwards.  Also, in conclusion of this event there are the PRIDE & PROUD Parade, a dance performance called “Born to Be Proud”, the Cover Dance, and a mini concert by the UP Band.   Participants are encouraged to write messages expressing their thoughts on speaking out for freedom, equality rights and the celebration of gender diversity at University of Phayao.
