UP & PEA INSTALL Solar Rooftop Panels: Green Energy for a Better Life
In a strong joint effort to demonstrate efficient energy conservation and promote efficient renewable energy sources for government agencies, UP and PEA (Provincial Electricity Authority) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on an energy saving management project at the University of Phayao on October, 28, 2019. The purpose of this groundbreaking project is for creating a pilot model for government agencies to use jointly with Energy Service Company: ESCO, the installer of a rooftop solar power generation system. The project’s energy efficiency measures will reduce operational costs and result in savings, and therefore less spent on energy bills.
Therefore, PEA has prepared a guideline proposal for implementing the “Energy Saving Management Project” at University of Phayao and for installing a rooftop solar generation system for buildings at University of Phayao, Phayao Province. Specific energy capacity is not less than 2,912 kWp using the Energy Monitoring System in sync with the Energy management Business Company (ESCO) model for government agencies.

Project scope
The project’s workplan is to install solar panels on the rooftops of designated academic buildings on the campus of University of Phayao. The complete solar panel rooftop system consists of 13 building units as shown below, with a maximum potential output of power of 2,997 MWp that are connected to the university’s transmission system within different university departments.
