School of Liberal Arts participated in the 17th Japanese Language Speech Competition at the Upper Northern Region Educational Level.

The Japanese lecturer and undergraduate students of the School of Liberal Arts participated in the 17th Japanese Language Speech Competition at the Upper Northern Region Educational Level. The Old Japan Students' Association, Kingdom of Thailand (OJSAT) organised this speech competition. The OJSAT (Northern Branch) is under the Patronage of His Majesty the King, and the Consulate-General of Japan in Chiangmai and is also supported by educational institutions, companies, and various organisations. This speech competition was held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at the Auditorium of Far Eastern University, Chiang Mai Province. The representatives from many universities across the Northern region (totalling 21 participants) attended the competition. The School of Liberal Arts, Department of Japanese Language, sent two students, including Miss Aphatcha Yiamsantia and Miss Praipha Intep. These students studying Japanese major were trained by Dr. Isao Yamaki, the training instructor and supervised by Assist.Prof.Napat Sanpote. Ultimately, Miss Praipha Intep won the fifth prize in this competition.

 

     The Department of Japanese Language, School of Liberal Arts, supports students' Japanese skills and provides them opportunities to apply their knowledge gained from Japanese language studies in practical activities. Participating in this speech competition aims to develop the UP students' Japanese language proficiency, and this participation can also motivate and inspire their Japanese learning.
