SEEN collabs Thai Health and CCAS provide the knowledge on the dangerous climate changes to communities for the forest fire surveillance

The School of Energy and Environment (SEEN), University of Phayao (UP), in collaboration with the Thai Health Promotion Foundation (Thai Health) and the Center for Clean Air Solutions (CCAS), organized an activity titled "Promoting Community Networking for Forest Fire Surveillance". This activity aimed to provide knowledge on the dangerous climate changes conditions, the impacts of forest fire smoke haze, health problems, health care, as well as raising awareness and promoting the cessation of open burning and forest fire surveillance in 10 communities within the network of cooperation of the Phayao Natural Resources and Environment Office, Phayao Provincial Agricultural Extension Office and Phayao breath council. The network consisted of a total of 150 participants from the following communities:

1. Mueang District (Ban Tun Subdistrict, Ban Mae Na Ruea Subdistrict, and other 3 Villages of Ban Mae Ka)
2. Dok Khamtai District (Ban Tham Subdistrict, Ban San Khong (Moo. 8) Subdistrict, and Pa Sang Subdistrict)
3. Chiang Kham District (Pee Village)

This was conducted under the project to strengthen the prototype community management of natural resources and environment to reduce the problem of forest fire smoke haze, and to promote health in the network area of the UP., Phayao Province, from March 26, 2024 to April 4, 2024, with Dr. Wimonrat Sitisara as the project leader.
