Students from the UP Contech Club, Civil Engineering Program, Mechanical Engineering Program, School of Engineering, in collaboration with the School of Architecture and Fine Arts, University of Phayao, recently participated in the BIM Collaboration for The Carbon & Sustainability Challenge under the theme "Living Sustainably". The competition was organized by The Engineering Institute of Thailand under H.M. The King's Patronage and took place on July 25, 2025, at Hall 5, LG Floor, Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.
In this national-level competition, the "Sustainabuild UP" team from University of Phayao earned the Creative Award for their innovative ideas and practical applications of Building Information Modeling (BIM). The winning team members include:

- • Ms. Chalisa Chaokhelaung – School of Architecture and Fine Arts
- • Mr. Sirichai Janta – School of Architecture and Fine Arts
The team was guided and mentored by Mr. Rittayut Gonthong, Dr. Anujit Phumiphan, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Nuttanon Pongpanitfrom the School of Engineering, along with Mr. Worachet Khammapan, faculty member from the School of Architecture and Fine Arts. Support was also provided by Ms. Pornpawee Chaikaew, teaching assistant, and Mr. Teerapat Moolaong, a graduate student advisor.
The project challenged students to utilize BIM modeling to improve existing properties, aiming for greater energy efficiency, enhanced living comfort, and environmental sustainability. It also aimed to raise awareness among students regarding the importance of reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the construction industry.
Aligned with three Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Goal 4 – Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all; Goal 9 – Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization, and foster innovation; and Goal 11 – Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable.
