On July 24, 2025, the School of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at the University of Phayao organized the "Comp Camp on Tour 2025" project at Phanpittayakhom School in Phan District, Chiang Rai Province. The goal of this project was to equip and empower young people with the necessary competencies and skills for the future. This initiative was a response to the fast-paced changes of the digital age and also served as an academic outreach program to the community, providing a learning environment that promotes social well-being.
The event was hosted by Assistant Professor Dr. Napa Ratchata, the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, along with members and staff from the School of Information and Communication Technology. It was warmly received by the school's administrators, teachers, and students.
The program offered a wide variety of hands-on training activities, including web application development for database management, block-based programming for controlling small robots, 3D modeling of buildings and structures with the use of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology, the creation and application of virtual world technologies (Metaverse), and the art of programming. Each course was taught by expert lecturers from various academic disciplines within the School of Information and Communication Technology, who not only shared theoretical knowledge but also practical skills and real-world experiences.
This year's Comp Camp on Tour not only improved students' technological skills, but also fostered critical thinking, teamwork, and creative problem-solving abilities. These competencies are crucial for young people to become leaders in Thailand's transition towards a technology-driven society and an innovation-based economy in the era of Industry 4.0 and beyond.
