Associate Professor Dr. Supakorn Phongsabangpo, President of the University of Phayao, assigned Dr. Wutthichai Chairinkham, Vice President for Student Quality and Incident Commander of the University’s Flood Response Unit (UP-ICS), together with Dr. Jaruwan Posayanont, Assistant to the President and Director of the Division of Student Affairs, staff, students, and volunteers from the “University of Phayao Volunteer Operations Center,” to provide assistance to families of university staff and students impacted by the recent floods in Chiang Muan District, Phayao Province, as well as Mueang District and Wiang Sa District in Nan Province.
The relief mission involved delivering rice, dried food, drinking water, and other essential supplies—donated by the public and university community—to affected families as an immediate measure to alleviate hardship. In addition to distributing essential goods, the University of Phayao also plans to provide further support to affected students through the “Friends for Students Fund,” ensuring that assistance covers both emergency needs and long-term recovery.
This initiative reflects the University’s commitment to serving as a reliable source of support for its staff and students during times of crisis, while prioritizing their safety, welfare, and well-being.
