The School of Liberal Arts welcomed Dr. Phibunsak Lakhonphon, National Artist in Literary Arts,
at the event “Writers Meet Readers on the Path of Literary Criticism.”
On Tuesday, August 19, 2025, the Thai Department, School of Liberal Arts, led by Associate Professor Dr. Warawat Sriyabhaya, organized the first session of the “Writers Meet Readers: A Journey Through Literary Criticism” event. The activity was part of an orientation and academic development program for graduate students and took place at Room CE 12203, Language Center, General Education Building, University of Phayao.
The event aimed to inspire students through direct engagement with nationally acclaimed literary figures and to promote deeper learning in language and literature. The school was honored to welcome Dr. Phibunsak Lakhonphon, National Artist in Literature (2017), renowned in the literary world as the “Prince of Romance.” His work is celebrated for its vivid portrayal of rural life and the ideals of young people. In addition to his writing, Dr. Pibunsak is also active in music and visual arts.
The session drew significant interest from both faculty and students, not only from the Thai Program but also from other academic disciplines, creating a lively and enriching atmosphere for literary exchange.
