September 6–8, 2025 – The University of Phayao, through its UP Volunteer Center under the Division of Students Affairs, organized a pilot project entitled “UP Volunteer: Power of Learning” at Ban Sa School, Phusang District, Phayao Province. The initiative was designed to strengthen volunteerism within the University and to foster student development in alignment with the University’s identity of social responsibility, service, and community engagement, while creating greater educational opportunities for schools in remote areas.
The program featured a series of volunteer-driven activities aimed at improving both the learning environment and student development. These included school beautification through fence painting and wall mural art, the development of teaching and learning media to support classroom activities, dental health awareness activities, and English language skill workshops for local students.
The opening of the program was presided over by Dr. Wuthichai Chairinkam, Ph.D.Vice President for Student Quality, who also presented 10 tablet devices to Ban Sa School to support students’ access to digital learning. The program was further enriched through collaboration with the School of Dentistry and the School of Education, University of Phayao, whose faculty and students joined as volunteer networks in delivering knowledge and learning support.
“UP Volunteer: Power of Learning” represents a key mechanism for extending educational opportunities to schools in disadvantaged areas, while instilling a strong sense of volunteerism and social contribution among University of Phayao students. The initiative reflects the University’s continued commitment to nurturing graduates who not only excel academically but also embody civic responsibility and contribute to sustainable community development.
