RACE Driving Workforce Development in Phayao Enhancing Workforce Competency to Meet the Standards of Modern Industrial Era

On October 1, 2025, the Center for Engineering Research and Academic Services (RACE), School of Engineering, University of Phayao, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Erawin Thavorn, Associate Dean for Research and Academic Services, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Nuttanon Pongpanit, Associate Dean for Student Affairs and Industrial Collaboration Development, together with School members and technical instructors, held a meeting with the Phayao Skill Development Office, headed by Mr. Thawatch Satiraphatchai, Director of the Phayao Skill Development Office, and his team. The purpose of the meeting was to establish collaborative plans for conducting training and skill standard testing for both university students and the general public in Phayao Province.

This collaboration aims to integrate engineering knowledge with national workforce development standards—particularly in fields related to advanced technology and modern industry. The initiative seeks to enhance the professional competencies of engineering students and local workers, thereby improving their employability and readiness for the demands of the evolving labor market.

During the meeting, the School of Engineering exchanged ideas on developing training programs, utilizing the School’s laboratory facilities as certified testing centers for workforce skill assessment, and promoting professional qualification certifications. These initiatives are designed to strengthen workforce preparedness and ensure alignment with the competency standards required by future industrial sectors.

This partnership marks a significant milestone for the School of Engineering, University of Phayao, in realizing its vision of becoming a leading learning center in engineering for industry and community development. It also reinforces the School’s commitment to producing graduates who possess comprehensive knowledge, technical expertise, and professional skills in accordance with national standards of excellence.
