On October 8, 2025, School of Engineering, University of Phayao, led by Dr. Anujit Phumiphan, Assistant Dean, together with School personnel, participated in the “Annual Tak Bat Devo Ceremony 2025 and Strengthening Moral and Good Governance in the Organization in Collaboration with the Mae Ka Community” The ceremony took place at Wat Pa Phra Ubalee, Mae Ka Subdistrict, Mueang Phayao District, Phayao Province. The event was jointly organized by the Division of General Affairs, in collaboration with the School of Political and Social Sciences, the Office of the President, the Division of Student Affairs, the Division of Building and Grounds, Wat Pa Phra Ubalee, the Mae Ka Subdistrict Municipality, and community leaders.
The ceremony was presided over by Dr. Wuthichai Chairinkam, Vice President for Student Quality, who also delivered a Dhamma sermon on the history and significance of the Tak Bat Devo day. Following the sermon, twelve Buddhist monks descended to receive offerings of rice and dried food from the Buddhist lay community.
This activity served as an opportunity to preserve and promote the traditional Tak Bat Devo ceremony, while also disseminating knowledge about the unique cultural heritage of the “Tan Tod” tradition—a distinctive identity of Phayao Province. Moreover, the event represented an integration of cooperation among the university, the temple, and the local community, aimed at strengthening harmonious relationships and fostering sustainable collaboration. All offerings collected during the ceremony were donated to students and residents in the Mae Ka community, reinforcing the spirit of sharing and social responsibility.
