On November 1, 2025, the School of Science, University of Phayao, took part as a major host in a merit-making ceremony to support the renovation of the ordination hall roof at Wat Ban So, Mae Na Ruea Sub-district, Mueang District, Phayao Province.
This philanthropic endeavor holds profound significance, as Wat Ban So serves as a key community site under the School’s initiative, “One School, One Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Target.” The School’s active participation underscores its commitment to holistic community engagement, spanning academic, social, and spiritual dimensions in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The event was led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sitthisak Pinmongkhonkul, Dean of the School of Science, together with school members and staff who joined the merit-making with great unity and devotion. As part of the activity, the school also organized a community food offering (“Rong Than”), serving over 150 bowls of red fish maw soup, along with tangerines and drinking water, to all participants and local residents.
This act of generosity reflects the School’s dedication to fostering social well-being, community engagement, and holistic development in alignment with the University’s mission to create sustainable value for local communities. The initiative further exemplifies the School’s role in strengthening its community partnerships, in accordance with the principles of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
