The opening ceremony was graciously presided over by Associate Professor Dr. Suphakorn Phongbangpho, President of the University of Phayao.

The University of Phayao Staff Sports Competition is organized annually, with participants divided into four teams represented by colors: Blue, Yellow, Green, and Pink. The competition features a total of eight sports disciplines, namely Football, Badminton, Volleyball, Petanque, Athletics, Chairball, Basketball, and E-sports. The tournament commenced on 15 December 2025. In this year’s event, School of Engineering was assigned to the Yellow Team and actively participated in a wide range of competitions, encompassing international sports, recreational activities, as well as the opening parade and cheerleading performances. These activities vividly reflected the spirit of unity, teamwork, and creative engagement among School personnel.

Beyond promoting physical activity and enhancing overall health and well-being, the event also served to strengthen collegial relationships among staff across the university. It fostered positive well-being in accordance with the guiding principle of “knowing how to lose, knowing how to win, and knowing how to forgive,” thereby contributing to organizational resilience and harmonious collaboration. Furthermore, the initiative encouraged personnel to adopt a holistic approach to health care by raising awareness of the importance of reducing, avoiding, and ultimately abstaining from alcohol consumption and smoking, which are significant health risk factors. Such efforts aim to enhance the quality of life and overall well-being of the University of Phayao community in a sustainable manner.
