Engineering UP Organizes Merit-Making Ceremony to Promote Religious Values and Organizational Culture

On 16 January 2026, School of Engineering, University of Phayao, organized the “School of Engineering Merit-Making Ceremony” at the activity area of Buildings EN 1–2. The ceremony was presided over by Associate Professor Dr. Nattapong Damrongwiriyanupap, Dean of the School of Engineering, who delivered the opening remarks.

The event comprised a series of religious and cultural rites, including a Buddhist merit-making ceremony, the traditional Suep Chata (life-extending ritual), and the chanting of Buddhist scriptures, as well as the offering of alms and meals to five monks. The objectives of the ceremony were to bestow auspiciousness upon School members, staff, and students, and to promote, preserve, and perpetuate Thailand’s valuable cultural traditions and religious heritage.

            On this occasion, Mr. Suphakit Rinta, General Administrative Officer from the Central Division of the University of Phayao, served as the master of ceremonies for the religious proceedings, including the Suep Chata ritual and the chanting of Buddhist prayers. The event was conducted in an orderly, serene, and reverent atmosphere, reflecting the unity and collective engagement of School members, staff, and students in participating in an auspicious activity of cultural and spiritual significance for the School of Engineering, University of Phayao.
