University of Phayao organized the Researcher Development and Progress Monitoring Program under the Fundamental Fund (FF) for Fiscal Years 2025–2026, along with the Area-based Research Publication Camp, to enhance researchers’ capabilities and elevate research quality to international standards. The event gathered over 300 participants, including executives, researchers, and staff.
On March 23, 2026, the program was officially opened to strengthen key research skills, including research design, data analysis, and international publication.
The university continues to emphasize the importance of the Fundamental Fund (FF) as a key mechanism for new knowledge creation, which can be further developed into applied research, innovation, and sustainable area-based solutions.
During the event, the transition from Fundamental Fund (FF) to Strategic Fund (SF) was highlighted, stressing the importance of past performance as a critical factor for future funding allocation.
The program also featured speakers from the Thailand Science Research and Innovation (TSRI), who provided insights into research funding strategies and emphasized outcome-based performance. Additionally, a special lecture on “Make Publication Great Again” offered techniques to improve research manuscripts for international publication.
The program was held from March 23–25, 2026, in Chiang Mai, aligning with the university’s vision of advancing knowledge and community innovation toward sustainable international recognition.
