On Thursday, April 2, 2026, the University of Phayao held a ceremonial event to offer royal well-wishes in honor of the birthday anniversary of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.
Associate Professor Supakorn Pongbangpho, Ph.D.President, University of Phayao, presided over the ceremony and led university executives and staff—including vice presidents, deans, assistant presidents, directors, and personnel—in signing a book of well-wishes to express their loyalty and gratitude. The ceremony took place at the multipurpose area on the first floor of the Office of the President building.
Following the ceremony, participants joined the “UP Volunteer Spirit” activity by packing face masks for donation to the University of Phayao Hospital and Phayao Hospital. The masks will also be distributed to university staff and students to help protect against PM 2.5 air pollution.
April 2 each year marks the birthday anniversary of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn and is also observed as Thai Heritage Conservation Day. Her Royal Highness was born on April 2, 1955, at Amphorn Sathan Residential Hall, Dusit Palace, and was bestowed the royal name Her Royal Highness Princess Sirindhorn Theprattanasuda Kitivadhanadulsobhak.
