BCA

On 27 May 2026, the school of Business and Communication Arts, University of Phayao, organized the workshop “Smart SAR AUN-QA Writing: Writing to Meet Standards and Assessment Requirements” at Riva Vista Riverfront Resort, Chiang Rai Province. The program aimed to enhance participants’ knowledge, understanding, and competencies in preparing Self-Assessment Reports (SARs) in accordance with the ASEAN University Network – Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) framework, an important mechanism for advancing curriculum quality toward regional and international standards.

The school was honored to welcome Assistant Professor Dr. Jantima Churasami from the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Phayao, as the guest speaker. She shared practical insights, effective techniques, and systematic approaches to SAR preparation, emphasizing the integration of data, supporting evidence, and performance outcomes to accurately demonstrate program quality. The session also highlighted strategies for aligning reports with assessment criteria while ensuring clarity, completeness, and relevance to each evaluation indicator.

The workshop provided a highly interactive and practice-oriented learning environment, enabling participants to exchange experiences and perspectives on quality assurance reporting and curriculum assessment. Through discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and collaborative learning activities, participants explored new approaches to curriculum development and educational quality assurance while strengthening their understanding of best practices in academic quality management.

Beyond preparing reports that meet assessment requirements, the workshop emphasized quality assurance as a strategic tool for continuous improvement. Participants gained practical knowledge that can be applied to curriculum enhancement, teaching and learning management, and quality data management. These competencies will contribute to more accurate, comprehensive, and evidence-based SAR preparation, enabling reports to better reflect actual performance and support ongoing curriculum development.

A key outcome of the program was the enhancement of personnel capabilities in educational quality assurance, the development of a shared understanding of AUN-QA reporting practices, and the promotion of a strong culture of quality within the school. These achievements provide an important foundation for strengthening educational excellence and supporting the Faculty’s aspiration to achieve sustainable international standards.

The initiative also contributes to several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It directly supports SDG 4 by strengthening professional competencies and enhancing quality assurance systems in higher education. The workshop further aligns with SDG 9 through the application of innovative quality management practices and modern approaches to curriculum development. In addition, it advances SDG 17 by promoting academic collaboration and knowledge exchange between the school and external experts, thereby strengthening networks for continuous educational quality improvement.

Guided by the principle of “Writing to Meet Standards and Assessment Requirements,” the school of Business and Communication Arts remains committed to continuously developing its personnel and enhancing curriculum quality. Through ongoing investment in professional development and quality assurance excellence, the school seeks to produce highly competent graduates, respond effectively to societal needs, and contribute to the advancement of higher education in line with international standards and sustainable development goals.
