On 29 May 2026, the Student Quality Development and Special Affairs Unit, School of Allied Health Sciences, University of Phayao, organized the Knowledge Exchange Program for Student Committee Members, Activity 1: “Workshop on Preparation for Welcoming New Students, Class of 2026.” The program was held at the Meeting Room, 3rd Floor, School of Allied Health Sciences, and Room MD4301, School of Public Health, University of Phayao. Participants included members of the Student Committee and students responsible for first aid and safety management during student activities.
The workshop aimed to prepare student volunteers responsible for first aid and safety supervision during the welcoming activities for new students. It also sought to enhance participants’ knowledge, understanding, and practical skills in basic first aid, as well as the rational and safe use of medicines, enabling them to provide appropriate and effective assistance in emergency situations. The opening ceremony was presided over by Assistant Professor Dr. Sittiporn Suwannamit, Assistant Dean for Student Quality Development and Special Affairs, School of Allied Health Sciences, University of Phayao. The project report and objectives were presented by Ms. Pilanthana Seramethakul, Educational Officer of the Student Quality Development and Special Affairs Unit.

During the morning session, Assistant Professor Dr. Chantima Churasami, Faculty Member of the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Phayao, delivered lectures on “Principles and Rationales for Rational Drug Use in First Aid Kits,” “Patient Information: Standard Medication Envelopes, Auxiliary Labels, and Patient Information Leaflets,” and “Complications and Risks Associated with Irrational Drug Use, Including Guidance on Alternative Medicine.” The sessions provided participants with essential knowledge on the safe and appropriate use of medicines.

In the afternoon session, Dr. Kiattisak Ongkulna, Associate Dean for Student Quality Development and Organizational Communication, School of Nursing, University of Phayao, conducted a lecture and hands-on workshop entitled “Basic First Aid for Safety Teams in New Student Orientation Activities.” Participants gained both theoretical knowledge and practical experience in initial patient assessment, emergency response, injury management, and proper casualty handling techniques, which are essential skills for ensuring safety during student activities.
This workshop successfully strengthened participants’ competencies in first aid, safety management, and rational drug use. The knowledge and practical skills acquired will contribute to the organization of safe, effective, and high-quality welcoming activities for new students while fostering a spirit of responsibility and preparedness among student leaders.
