BCA Strengthens Collaboration in Phrae to Advance Sustainable Tourism Routes Linking Eastern Lanna

BCA

Dr. Piyapong Supanyo, Associate Dean for Research Innovation and Network Development, School of Business Administration and Communication Arts(BCA), took part in the development and field testing of the “Slow Life Local Test” sustainable tourism route in Phrae Province. The activity was organized by the Phrae Provincial Office of Tourism and Sports in collaboration with sustainability network partners.

The initiative was designed to pilot tourism products through the integration of Phrae’s local tourism assets and distinctive resources. These included Arabasol coffee, an initiative promoting coffee cultivation as an alternative to open-field burning; Mae Yom National Park, which is home to the largest golden teak forest in Thailand; the Sak Thong community distillery in Sa-Iab Subdistrict; the Phrae Coffee Festival; and the province’s renowned handicrafts and craft products, all of which represent the unique cultural identity of Phrae.

Participation in this activity underscores the School’s commitment to fostering collaboration in the development of the cultural capital of Eastern Lanna, comprising Chiang Rai, Phayao, Phrae, and Nan. This aligns with the School’s key policy priorities and its commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The activity also served to strengthen partnerships with local stakeholders in Phrae Province, laying a foundation for future collaborative research projects and academic service initiatives.
