BCA

On 2 July 2026, the School of Business and Communication Arts, together with its Student Association, held the annual Wai Khru Ceremony with the objectives of preserving and promoting Thailand’s cherished cultural traditions, cultivating moral values, ethical principles, and gratitude toward teachers, as well as strengthening the relationship between faculty members and students. The ceremony also sought to enhance students’ awareness of the value and significance of education as a fundamental foundation for personal and societal development.

The ceremony was presided over by Assistant Professor Dr. Tanyatip Kharuhayothin, Dean of the School of Business and Communication Arts, and was attended by the School’s executives, faculty members, and staff. During the ceremony, the Dean received the traditional floral and candle offerings and performed the customary blessing of students’ books to bestow auspiciousness upon their academic pursuits. Subsequently, the President of the Student Association led the students in reciting a pledge expressing their commitment to becoming virtuous and responsible students of the University of Phayao.

On this occasion, Assistant Professor Dr. Tanyatip Kharuhayothin delivered an address to the students, emphasizing that the Wai Khru Ceremony is a long-standing and meaningful tradition in Thai society. Regardless of profession or discipline, teachers are highly regarded as those who impart knowledge, transmit wisdom, and provide guidance for life. The ceremony reflects the enduring bond between teachers and students—a relationship that does not end upon graduation but remains a lifelong source of inspiration and gratitude.

The Dean further highlighted that, although knowledge in the digital era is readily accessible through modern technologies and Artificial Intelligence (AI), teachers continue to play an indispensable role in guiding students, discerning and contextualizing knowledge, and inspiring learners to discover and realize their full potential. Equally important is the responsibility of students to pursue lifelong learning, engage in continuous self-improvement, and adapt to an ever-changing world.

The School of Business and Communication Arts remains firmly committed to continuously enhancing its teaching and learning practices in order to produce high-quality graduates who possess entrepreneurial mindsets, strong communication competencies, and a deep sense of social responsibility. This commitment is consistent with the School’s vision of becoming “a leading organization in developing entrepreneurs and communicators for the global community, driven by wisdom and innovation for a sustainable future.”
