Engineering Participates in the Council of Engineering Deans of Thailand Meeting to Advance Engineering Education in the AI-Driven Era

The School of Engineering University of Phayao, led by Associate Professor Dr. Nattapong Damrongwiriyanupap, Dean of the School of Engineering, together with Assistant Professor Dr. Erawin Thavorn, Vice Dean for Research and Academic Services, and Assistant Professor Dr. Wassana Naku, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Quality Assurance, participated in the 2026 Annual General Meeting of the Council of Engineering Deans of Thailand and the Association of Engineering Deans, held in conjunction with the 22nd National Conference on Engineering Education under the theme “AI DRIVEN.”

The event took place from 9 to 11 July 2026 at Toscana Valley Khao Yai, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. It was jointly organised by the Institute of Engineering, Suranaree University of Technology, and the Council of Engineering Deans of Thailand.

  4. Innovative Learning Management and Learning Support
  5. Future Skills Development
  6. Sustainable Organisational Development towards Excellence
  7. Capacity Building for Support Personnel

The event comprised the Annual General Meeting of the Council of Engineering Deans of Thailand, an academic conference on engineering education, keynote lectures delivered by distinguished experts from government agencies, industry, and higher education institutions, as well as panel discussions addressing key issues in engineering education. These included engineering curriculum development, educational quality assurance, university–industry collaboration, and the preparation of engineering graduates for the AI-driven world of work.

The conference served as an important national platform for shaping the future direction of engineering education in Thailand. It also facilitated the exchange of knowledge, professional experience, and innovative approaches to enhancing the quality of engineering graduates in response to the rapid transformation brought about by artificial intelligence and digital technologies.

Participation in this conference provided the School of Engineering, University of Phayao, with a valuable opportunity to contribute to the strategic development of engineering education at the national level, strengthen academic and professional networks, and acquire relevant knowledge and good practices. The insights gained will be applied to curriculum enhancement, teaching and learning management, educational quality assurance, and the development of engineering graduates equipped with the knowledge, competencies, and future-oriented skills required by industry and the rapidly evolving AI-driven world.
