On Sunday, 12 July 2026, the School of Engineering University of Phayao, led by Assistant Professor Dr. Wassana Naku, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Quality Assurance, together with staff from the Academic Affairs Unit, organised the “School of Engineering Internship Preparation Programme” at PKY1, the General Education Building, University of Phayao.
The programme was attended by students from the School of Engineering and aimed to equip them with the knowledge, understanding, and appropriate guidance required before undertaking internships or cooperative education placements in professional organisations. Assistant Professor Dr Nitsara Boonkerd, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Quality Assurance, and Cooperative Education at the School of Medical Sciences, University of Phayao, was invited as the guest speaker to share her knowledge, professional experience, and practical insights with the participating students.
The lecture covered several key topics, including the policies, significance, and benefits of internships and cooperative education; effective preparation prior to entering the workplace; and essential professional competencies. These competencies included appropriate workplace communication, teamwork, time management, problem-solving in unexpected situations, accountability, and professional conduct in accordance with organisational regulations and workplace culture.
The programme formed part of the School’s commitment to enhancing students’ potential by preparing them in terms of academic knowledge, professional skills, and desirable personal attributes. It also encouraged students to apply classroom-based knowledge appropriately in real-world professional contexts, while strengthening their confidence and providing valuable experience to support their future career development.
