Industrial Engineering Students Win CNC Machining Awards at the 31st Regional Thailand Skills Competition

Students from the Bachelor of Engineering Program in Industrial Engineering School of Engineering University of Phayao, have brought distinction to the University by receiving prestigious awards in the 31st Thailand Skills Competition (Regional Level) for the Northern Region. The competition was held from 8–10 July 2026 at the Lampang Institute for Skill Development 10, Lampang Province.

The event was attended by executives from the Department of Skill Development, government officials, representatives from private-sector partner organizations, and members of the public. A total of 359 competitors from educational institutions and organizations across the 16 northern provinces, together with participants from other regions of Thailand, competed in 23 major occupational skill categories, demonstrating technical excellence across a broad range of professional disciplines.

The School of Engineering, University of Phayao, entered students in the CNC Machining competitions and achieved outstanding results in two categories:

Mr. Chananyu Suwankham received the Bronze Medal in the CNC Milling Machine competition.

Mr. Sophonwit Maidee was awarded the Medallion for Excellence in the CNC Turning Machine competition.

The students were closely mentored and coached by Mr. Anukul Suriyachai, Mr. Piyapong Yaruang, and Mr. Sombutt Suya, who serve as Practical Instructors in the School of Engineering.

These achievements reflect the students' ability to effectively integrate theoretical knowledge in industrial engineering with advanced practical competencies in CNC machining. The awards also demonstrate the School of Engineering's continued commitment to producing highly competent engineering graduates whose professional skills align with national occupational standards and the evolving needs of modern industry. Furthermore, these accomplishments provide a strong foundation for future participation and success in ASEAN and international-level skills competitions.
