Representatives from the School of Liberal Arts, University of Phayao, paid an official visit to the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC), Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, and Chinese Plus (中文联盟) in Beijing to strengthen international collaboration in Chinese language education and academic development.
The delegation consisted of Dr. Chanapa Duangfai, Associate Dean for Special Affairs; Mr. Nattaworn Wongchitratorn, Associate Dean for Student Quality Development; Mr. Wang Zhiguo; and Mr. Mongkol Jaiaram, lecturers in the Chinese Program at the University of Phayao.
The visit was made at the invitation of Chinese Plus (中文联盟) following the University’s outstanding achievements in the 4th “Tourism + Chinese Language” Video Competition 2026. A video entitled “Cultural Tourism in Phayao Province,” produced by fourth-year students from the Chinese Program, received the Best Video Production Award. In addition, Mr. Mongkol Jaiaram and Mr. Wang Zhiguo were honored with the Outstanding Academic Advisor Award, while the University of Phayao received the Outstanding Institution Award.
During the visit, the delegation met with representatives from both Chinese Plus (中文联盟) and CLEC to explore future collaboration in several strategic areas, including Chinese language teaching and learning, promotion of the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK), the development of “Chinese + Professional Skills” curricula, online Chinese language programs, and scholarship opportunities for students to pursue further studies in China.
At Chinese Plus, representatives from the School of Liberal Arts introduced the University of Phayao’s recent development, the School’s mission in language education, the role and services of the Language Center, and the academic achievements of the Chinese Program. In return, Chinese Plus presented its organizational background, major initiatives, educational services, and its role in advancing international digital platforms for Chinese language education.
Both sides exchanged views on current trends in global Chinese language education, HSK promotion, digital curriculum development, the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into Chinese language teaching and learning, professional development for Chinese language teachers, educational resource sharing, and future academic cooperation.
The discussions emphasized that the rapid advancement of digital technologies and artificial intelligence has created new opportunities for Chinese language education worldwide. Both parties agreed to strengthen collaboration by leveraging their respective expertise to jointly develop and share high-quality educational resources, thereby enhancing the quality and expanding the global impact of Chinese language education. They also discussed establishing a long-term cooperation mechanism and exchanged preliminary ideas on a framework for future collaboration, laying a solid foundation for practical and sustainable partnerships.

The meeting focused on international trends in Chinese language education, the growing demand for Chinese language instruction overseas, teacher professional development, scholarship opportunities, and future collaborative initiatives.
During the meeting, representatives from the School of Liberal Arts reaffirmed the University of Phayao’s strong commitment to advancing Chinese language education and expressed their intention to expand cooperation with CLEC in areas such as Chinese language teaching, professional development for Chinese language teachers, research and innovation, and student development. Both sides agreed to maintain close communication and strengthen institutional collaboration in the years ahead.
This official visit significantly enhanced mutual understanding and friendship among the University of Phayao, the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC), and Chinese Plus (中文联盟). More importantly, it marked a significant milestone toward establishing a long-term strategic partnership that will contribute to the continued advancement of Chinese language education and international academic cooperation.
