Engineering Welcomes Demonstration School Students to Experience Engineering Through Hands-on Laboratory Learning

On 18 July 2026, the School of Engineering University of Phayao, led by Assistant Professor Dr. Wassana Naku, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Quality Assurance, together with School members, laboratory instructors, support staff, and students, warmly welcomed teachers and students from the Demonstration School of the University of Phayao for the Excellence Laboratory programme (Session 2) of the 2026 Academic Year. The activity was conducted under the One School One Excellence: Mathematics, Science, and Technology Development Project and took place at the School of Engineering, University of Phayao.

During the programme, participating students engaged in hands-on laboratory activities across the School's four engineering disciplines: Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. The laboratory sessions were designed to provide students with authentic exposure to engineering education at the university level through direct interaction with modern engineering equipment, advanced laboratory instruments, and contemporary technologies. Throughout the activities, participants received close guidance and mentorship from academic staff and engineering students, enabling them to gain practical insights into engineering concepts and professional practices.

The programme aims to enhance the quality of science education for upper secondary school students by strengthening learning outcomes in mathematics, science, and technology in accordance with standards comparable to those of Thailand's leading science schools. Furthermore, it promotes experiential and inquiry-based learning, encouraging students to develop analytical thinking, experimental competencies, and project-based research skills. These competencies constitute essential foundations for nurturing the next generation of scientists, researchers, technologists, and innovators capable of contributing to national and global sustainable development.
