School of Engineering University of Phayao, continues to promote the development of industrial workforce capabilities. Assistant Professor Khomkit Meksakul, a lecturer in the Industrial Engineering programme, was invited by the International Skill Development Institute to serve as a training instructor for the course entitled “Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)”
The 30-hour training programme was conducted from 11 to 14 August 2026 at Sacha Thai Co., Ltd., Mueang Chum Subdistrict, Wiang Chai District, Chiang Rai Province. Its purpose was to transfer knowledge and practical experience in machinery maintenance and production-efficiency enhancement to employees in industrial establishments. A total of 25 workers participated in the programme.
The training focused on strengthening participants’ knowledge, understanding, and practical skills related to the principles of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). TPM is a key approach that encourages personnel at all organisational levels to take an active role in equipment care and maintenance, minimise losses arising from production processes, and improve overall operational efficiency.
Assistant Professor Komkrit’s contribution as a training instructor represents another important role undertaken by the School of Engineering, University of Phayao, in disseminating engineering expertise to the industrial sector. This initiative strengthens the connection between higher education and workforce development in industrial establishments, while supporting the enhancement of labour skills in alignment with the concrete needs of industry. It also reflects the University of Phayao’s mission of providing academic services and generating meaningful benefits for society.
