The School of Engineering, University of Phayao, organized the 2nd “Strengthening Alumni Bonds of the School of Engineering, University of Phayao” Project on 3 September 2026 at the Phra Vishvakarma Shrine Courtyard. The initiative was designed to foster a strong sense of belonging and facilitate the intergenerational transmission of shared values, while strengthening relationships among alumni, current students, School members, and staff to build a cohesive and sustainable engineering network.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Associate Professor Dr. Nattapong Damrongwiriyanupap, Dean of the School of Engineering, with Assistant Professor Dr. Apichat Buakla, Vice Dean for Administration and Special Affairs, delivering the opening report. The event was attended by School members, staff, alumni, and students of the School of Engineering.

A key highlight of the event was the ceremonial homage to Phra Vishvakarma and the deities revered by the School of Engineering, an important tradition that reflects respect for and the preservation of cultural practices closely associated with the engineering profession. Ajarn Ajong Siriprasong led the ceremonial rites to pay homage to Phra Vishvakarma and invoke the deities. The ceremony served as a collective expression of respect and faith in Phra Vishvakarma, who is regarded as a symbolic representation of engineering knowledge and professional practice. It also reaffirmed the School’s commitment to preserving and transmitting the values, professional ethos, and spirit of engineering from one generation to the next.

In addition, the School of Engineering organized an Awards and Recognition Ceremony to honor School members, staff, and students whose outstanding achievements have contributed to the School’s reputation and excellence. Recognition was presented across several categories, comprising:

·       10 Outstanding Personnel Awards

·       49 Academic Excellence Awards for Students

·       12 Student Recognition Awards for Distinguished Achievements

·       7 Outstanding Student Activity Groups

These recognitions reflect the collective potential and dedication of the School of Engineering community, which continues to pursue excellence through continuous self-development and achievement in professional practice, academic learning, reputation-building, and community-oriented activities. Collectively, these efforts constitute a vital driving force in advancing the School of Engineering toward sustained excellence and strengthening its identity as a community grounded in knowledge, professional values, and enduring engineering spirit.
