On August 24, 2026, the Division of Building and Facilities, University of Phayao, participated in a field visit under the "Student Council Outreach: Listening to Student Voices" Project for Academic Year 2026, organized by the Division of Student Affairs in collaboration with the University of Phayao Student Council, to listen to student problems and feedback. The objective was to provide students with an opportunity to share problems, opinions, and suggestions regarding their use of spaces and facilities within the university.

This field visit was led by Assistant Professor Dr. Wuttichai Chairinkham, Vice President for Student Quality, and Assistant Professor Suwit Panyawong, Vice President for Environment and Landscape, together with Dr. Charuwan Poshyananda and Mr. Nattawut Somyarone, Assistants to the President, as well as executives and heads of relevant sections. The group jointly listened to student feedback and conducted an on-site inspection of the facilities in order to identify problems and consider appropriate solutions.

The Division of Building and Facilities placed particular emphasis on issues relating to area conditions, safety, public utility systems, and facilities, conducting a field survey to identify problems and points requiring correction in order to improve the readiness and suitability of the areas for use. Following the field visit, the Division promptly addressed issues that could be resolved immediately, as detailed below:

1. Improvement of the entrance area on the School of Education side, PKY Building
As the existing anti-slip mats were damaged and peeling, new anti-slip mats were installed to enhance safety and reduce the risk of slipping in the area.

2. Improvement of the lighting system along the connecting walkway, PKY Building, 3rd Floor
As the existing lighting had deteriorated and was no longer functional, new lighting was installed to improve brightness and safety for those passing through the area.

3. Repair of the wall in the cafeteria area, PKY Building
Water seepage and mold were found on the wall, causing parts of it to peel and deteriorate. The damaged sections were removed, and the wall was repaired and repainted to ensure the area is neat, clean, and suitable for use.

4. Additional lighting installed in the parking area at Gate 3
Following the expansion of the parking area to include two additional zones, namely the area behind the bus parking zone and the area near the stairway, five additional solar-powered lights were installed to improve lighting and safety in the area at night.

These efforts reflect the Division of Building and Facilities' approach of prioritizing student feedback as the basis for problem-solving, through listening, inspection, and consideration of appropriate solutions. Issues that could be resolved immediately were promptly addressed, while other concerns raised during the field visit continue to be monitored. This is aimed at developing the university's environment, public utility systems, and facilities to ensure safety, functionality, and effective responsiveness to the needs of students and personnel.
