On August 16, 2026, Assistant Professor Dr. Natthawut Subphaso, Associate Dean for Student Quality Development and Professional Experience, together with Mr. Khomthit Chantama, Educational Academic Officer, and members of the School of Education Student Association, University of Phayao, organized activities under the Volunteer Teacher Student Development for Area-Based Community Development Initiative at Mahamakut Buddhist University, Isan Campus, Khon Kaen Province. On this occasion, Phra Suthivachiratham, Assistant Professor Dr., Vice President of Mahamakut Buddhist University, Isan Campus, together with the university’s administrators, faculty members, and educational personnel, warmly welcomed the delegation. They also exchanged ideas and experiences on student development and the cultivation of public-mindedness as a foundation for community development. The activities aimed to provide students with opportunities to learn about the processes involved in organizing volunteer activities and development camps, while cultivating a sense of social responsibility, public service, and community engagement. The initiative also sought to strengthen positive relationships between educational institutions and local communities, contributing to the development of students’ ideals and professional identity as future teachers. Furthermore, it encouraged students to participate in local development in accordance with the University of Phayao’s aspiration, “Wisdom for the Strength of Communities.”
Throughout the program, the School of Education Student Association organized a variety of activities, including relationship-building activities between the School of Education Student Association, University of Phayao, and the Student Association of Mahamakut Buddhist University, Isan Campus; area improvement and public service activities; and student engagement activities under the theme “Volunteer Teacher Students for Area-Based Development.” These activities promoted experiential learning beyond the classroom through hands-on participation and provided opportunities for students to develop skills in teamwork, social responsibility, and community engagement. They also contributed to strengthening collaborative networks between higher education institutions and fostering mutual learning and cooperation among student organizations. The initiative is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, reflecting the School of Education’s commitment to developing socially responsible future teachers, promoting community-based learning, and strengthening sustainable partnerships among higher education institutions.
