The Division of Buildings and Facilities, University of Phayao, through its Gardens and Landscape Unit, has harvested and threshed RD43 rice at the terraced rice fields near UP Dormitory 5. The rice was planted in August.
The harvested rice will be delivered to the Im Jai Pan Gan Gin UP Community Kitchen to serve as an ingredient for meals for University of Phayao students. Students can use it to prepare meals free of charge, promoting sharing and supporting food security within the university.
This initiative makes good use of the university’s available land, encourages the use of agricultural produce for the common good, and supports the University of Phayao’s approach to sustainable development.
