French Department Welcomes Director from the Alliance Française to Commemorate 340 Years of Franco–Thai Relations
On November 11, 2025, French Department, School of Liberal Arts, University of Phayao, warmly welcomed Mr. David Petitjean, Director of the Alliance Française and Ms. Amandine Soares, Teaching Affairs Officer, on the occasion of the 340th anniversary of Franco–Thai diplomatic relations under the project “Language and Culture.”
The event was presided over by Asst. Prof. Dr. Chittima Kaweera, Dean of the School of Liberal Arts, together with distinguished faculty members and administrators, including Dr. Jarukan Jitwongnan, Chair of the Bachelor of Arts in French Program, and lecturers of the French Program, who jointly extended a warm welcome to the honorable guests.
The program featured a special lecture and workshop on “Travailler en français dans un contexte international : comprendre, communiquer, collaborer” aiming to enhance students’ understanding of the French language and culture, as well as to develop intercultural communication skills essential for working in multicultural contexts. Students also had the opportunity to engage in hands-on activities and real-life case studies from various professional fields such as tourism, hospitality, business, and the aviation industry.
The event took place at the Language Center (Examination Center) Room CE12203, Multipurpose Building, and Room CE14206, School of Liberal Arts, University of Phayao, and was enthusiastically attended by students of the French Program.
